OFWs positive for COVID-19

Repatriated OFWs positive for COVID-19 fled the quarantine facility

THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has confirmed that several repatriated overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who have been positive for COVID-19 have escaped from quarantine facilities.

According to PCG spokesperson Commodore Armand Balilo, the OFWs escaped before their test results came out and they are at home now with their family.

Authorities are now looking for the escaped OFWs as they are investigating who their accomplice is.

According to authorities, such OFWs could be charged with a violation of the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act.

Balilo pleaded with the OFWs to extend their patience while awaiting the results of their COVID-19 test.

PCG has also teamed up with the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) to facilitate the release of test results.
