NBA Board of Governors Chairman Larry Tannenbaum announced on Wednesday, June 27, of extending Adam Silver contract as Commissioner of the NBA until the 2023-24 campaign.
Silver started working for the league as Deputy Commissioner on 1992 and was assigned as Chief Operation Officer (COO) for 8 years.
Silver replaced David Stern as the NBA Commissioner on February 1, 2014.
Silver is the fifth commissioner beyond a full decade in NBA history.
Adam tenure became a major controversy after he banned and fined a maximum of twenty million dollars ($20-M) against LA Clippers owner, Ronald Sterling over racist comments.
