200 people, killed in series of violent incidents in Nigeria

Over 200 people were killed in a series of violent incidents in Nigeria that spiraled from the displacement of locals caused by burning of homelands and properties.

According to police authorities, the violence reportedly has been ongoing for the past decades due to resistance of farmers against semi nomadic herders.

In an email, the Nigerian police said that they will be sending additional forces to the plague state.

According to the Nigerian Police, “The deployment of the personnel of the police special intervention force will equally cover communities, towns, villages, vulnerable settlements, government and private infrastructures and facilities in all the affected areas.”

The additional forces will include 2 surveillance helicopters, 5 armored personnel carriers, and additional manpower of officers.
